ISPM15 Export Pallets

Every pallet that leaves the UK bound for a non-EU destination has to comply with ISPM15. We supply heat-treated, IPPC-stamped export pallets in both new and used wood, produced and marked at our Widnes facility under a registered treatment number. Rubber-stamped, documented, and ready to clear customs at both ends.

What ISPM15 Requires, In Practice

The standard requires all wood packaging thicker than 6mm to be heat-treated to a minimum core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for at least 30 minutes (the HT mark) or fumigated with methyl bromide (the MB mark, now rare in the UK). The treated wood is then marked with the IPPC logo, a two-letter country code, a unique treatment facility number, and the treatment type.

ISPM15 Requirements in Practice

New or Used, Both Export-Ready

New heat-treated pallets are our default for high-value outbound shipments: clean boards, fresh stamps, no damage history. Used heat-treated pallets are a lower-cost option for sensible outbound loads where presentation matters less. Both carry the same legal weight at customs.

We keep both options in held stock at Widnes. Next-day dispatch is standard for orders under a full artic. Larger orders or bespoke sizes usually ship within 48 to 72 hours. Treatment paperwork is attached to every delivery so the receiving agent has proof on arrival.

Country of treatment, the unique facility number that treated it, and the treatment method (HT or MB). That is enough to prove compliance at the border without additional paperwork in most cases.

Yes, as long as the mark is still clearly legible and the pallet has not been repaired with non-treated wood. If it was repaired with untreated components it has to be re-treated and re-stamped.

Indefinitely, in theory. The treatment kills any organisms in the wood at time of treatment. The legal validity of the stamp is good for the pallet's life, subject to repair compliance.

Yes. Euro-sized 1200 x 800mm heat-treated pallets are held in stock and go out same-day or next-day on most orders.

Delivery notes include the treatment facility reference, treatment type, treatment date, and batch number. For regulated customers we can also provide a standalone treatment certificate per delivery.
