Frequently Asked Questions

The UK standard pallet is 1200 x 1000mm and suits most domestic logistics. Euro EPAL pallets are 1200 x 800mm and are the standard across Europe and widely used in UK racking systems too. For non-standard loads we can supply bespoke sizes.

New pallets are freshly manufactured from kiln-dried timber with no history, offering maximum strength and a uniform appearance. Used pallets (reconditioned, Grade A/B/C) are inspected and repaired, offer excellent value, and support your sustainability objectives at a lower price per unit.

Any wooden pallet crossing an international border outside the EU must be ISPM15 compliant. The heat treatment kills pests in the timber and is certified with a burnt-in IPPC stamp. Shipments without it can be rejected or fumigated at cost at the border.

Wood is cheaper per pallet and easier to repair. Plastic lasts longer, is hygienic and moisture-resistant, and is better for food, pharma and closed-loop operations. For most B2B supply chains a mix of both delivers the best total cost of ownership.

A standard UK 1200 x 1000mm new wooden pallet supports a dynamic load of around 1000 to 1500kg and static stacked loads of 3000kg or more when evenly distributed. Heavy-duty Grade A pallets and Euro EPAL pallets rate similarly.
